Schweitzer Mountain Resort has announced it will open for the season on Friday, aided by the resort’s snowmaking machine. 49° North Mountain Resort announced today that the resort will be open for operations on Saturday. They’re reporting heavy snowfall over the last two weeks, which they say has provided the mountain with great coverage, with a snow depth of 24 inches at the summit and 13 inches at the lodge. Lookout Pass Ski Area is reporting 15 inches of snow over the weekend and forecasts for more throughout the week.
