Proof of Life: Pacing

Twin Spokane Cancer Short Films hit local, state, and national stages

October 4, 2018—The Seattle-based Trail Running Film Festival announced today the inclusion of the 5-minute short film “Proof of Life: Pacing” as one of ten films that will tour to over 40 US cities as part of its 2019 lineup.

The film, created by Spokane filmmaker Adam Harum, is a side project out of the full 22-minute Proof of Life film. The larger film follows Spokane trail runner Brad Thiessen as he seeks physical and emotional recovery following his third bout with cancer. Film Festival organizer James Varner had equally high praise for the full film. “It was a very tough decision but we decided the full film was too long to include on our tour,” he told Adam and Brad. “If we were doing a 3 hour show instead of a 2 hour show the full film would’ve definitely made the cut.”

The 22-minute Proof of Life film will be shown at the full three-day Trail Running Film Festival in Seattle November 30-December 2. Learn more at trailfilmfest.com.

Spokane audiences will get the chance to see both films in November. The full Proof of Life documentary will launch on Saturday November 3, 7:00 pm at the Millwood Community Center, 3223 N. Marguerite Rd, Spokane. Tickets are available for suggested donation at proofoflifefilm.com.

“Proof of Life: Pacing” will make its Spokane Debut when the traveling Trail Running Film Festival hits Spokane’s Garland Theatre on November 16. A link to tickets is at trailfilmfest.com.

Spokane-based non-profit Cancer Can’t was the film’s largest funder.
