Spokane-area paddlers and anyone interested in learning are invited to gather at Mirabeau Park on Thursday, May 7 for the Spokane Canoe & Kayak Club’s annual Paddling Season Kickoff. The free event starts at 6 p.m. and is open to everyone. Designed to bring together boaters of all experience levels, the kickoff offers a chance to meet SCKC board members and connect with local river advocates from the Spokane Riverkeeper and River Forum.
Attendees can also talk with kayak instructors, visit with representatives from Team River Runner and mingle with fellow paddling enthusiasts. The evening is geared toward building connections, learning about upcoming classes and trips, and finding ways to get involved in the regional paddling community.
