THE BIGGEST BIKE DEMO EVENT OF THE YEAR

Local bike shops and bike brands that participated and offered bike demos at Spokatopia 2018 include Wheel Sport, North Division Bicycle Shop, Mojo Cyclery, The Bike Hub, Shred Sports Outlet, and Velofix, along with these Northwest reps for your favorite bike brands: Specialized, Pivot, Niner, Yeti, Ibis, Trek, Rocky Mountain, Transition, Santa Cruz, Raleigh electric bikes, Giant, the new line of Rossignol mountain bikes, and other brands. Spokatopia is the biggest bike demo event in the Inland Northwest and one of the biggest in the Northwest! If you are thinking about a new bike, this is your chance to test the best all in one place. Check back soon for 2019 bike demo brands as we confirm them.

PADDLEBOARDS, KAYAKS, & OTHER BOAT DEMOS

If you’ve been thinking about buying a stand up paddleboard or just want to try different options out, this is your chance to try inflatable stand up paddleboards, kayaks, canoes, and other water toys at Boulder Beach below the central festival grounds on the Spokane River. We are looking forward to announcing even more water sports brands and retailers participating in 2019 soon.

GENERAL STORE WATER BLASTER ZONE

Soak your friends or your kids with one of the General Store’s water blasters. Pick up a loaner water blaster at the General Store booth, available all weekend, then head into the woods behind their booth and go to town soaking the daylights out of your friends and kin.

LIVE MUSIC, BIKES & BREWS ADULT BEVERAGE GARDEN, & FOOD

Enjoy live music all day and craft beer (including a gluten-free beer option) and cider from the Inland Northwest and beyond in the pine-shaded brews garden located in the Spokatopia central festival grounds. Proceeds from the brews garden benefit Evergreen East Mountain Bike Alliance – drink up and support your local mountain bike club! Local food vendors will be on hand serving up delicious eats.

Thank you to our 2018 Bikes & Brews Beverage Garden sponsors! Ground Breaker Brewing, Genus Brewing, One Tree Hard Cider, Millwood Brewing, Badass Backyard Brewing, Big Sky Brewing, and Kombucha Town!

MOUNTAIN BIKE JUMP SHOW

Watch talented local riders fly through the air on bikes, pulling off tricks and launching off huge gap jumps that few mountain bikers can execute and land. Follow the signs to the Camp Sekani bike park a short walk through the trees a few hundred yards to the east of the main festival grounds. This free event promises to be an awesome experience for spectators. Show up early to watch riders “practice.” The 2019 Spokatopia MTB Jump Show schedule will be announced soon!

FREE SEKANI MOUNTAIN BIKE SHUTTLES

Ride your choice of Sekani trails without having to pedal or push your bike to the top in the July heat – that is unless you want to! Bring your own mountain bike or take a demo bike for a spin down your choice of Camp Sekani trails, from easy, intermediate to expert or insane. And then catch a ride back to the top in the Evergreen East sponsored shuttle vehicle and do it again! Evergreen East volunteers will be on hand to help riders pick the right trails for their ability levels, and if you prefer to go it alone, you can pick up a free trail map at the Evergreen East booth.

HAMMOCK GARDEN

Chill in the pines on an ENO Hammock behind the music stage (all weekend).

REI CAMPGROUND

Lounge in a hammock or camp chair; eat lunch; play lawn games; and enjoy a campsite setting with tents, outdoor skills classes, and a chance to make a trail mix bar (all day).

BOULDERING/ROCK CLIMBING

Kids and adults can try multiple routes on the Bloc Yard Bouldering Gym climbing wall at the Bloc Yard booth (all weekend).

KIDS STRIDER BALANCE BIKE DEMOS

Kids age 2-5 will love riding these balance bikes on flat grass and trail in the trees behind the stage (all weekend).

FIRST INTERSTATE BANK GAME CAVE

Cornhole, Giant Jenga, Connect Four, and rock balancing for all ages and treasure digging for kids. Look for the Game Cave set up in the shade with fun for adults and kids and benches for parents to take a well-deserved break.

GEOCACHING

Take a hike up in the hills above the festival grounds to find a special Spokatopia geocache for fame, glory, and a chance to win swag from REI. Stop by the REI Campground at the festival to find out how to play.

SPOKATOPIA TRAIL RUN

This year’s 5k trail run at Camp Sekani Park will be on Sunday morning, July 14. The Spokatopia Trail Run is a dirt trail fun run that will be the perfect start to a day of Spokatopia festivities for both experienced and first-time trail runners. We are also planning another free trail running clinic before the run for those who are interested in some tips from trail running experts. (Register Here)

MORNING YOGA LESSON (FREE!)

Free Outdoor Yoga for Everyone Saturday morning under the big weather-proof tent on the west side of the meadow. Class style is appropriate for all levels. Never done yoga? Don’t feel flexible? Been practicing for 10 years? THIS CLASS IS FOR YOU. Bring your yoga mat if you have one.

WEATHER & WHAT TO WEAR

Since Spokatopia is an outdoor adventure festival, check the forecast and come prepared for all sorts of weather, from rain showers to intense heat and sunshine. Don’t forget your bike shorts/helmets for the free bike demos and board shorts/swimsuit for paddleboard and other water sports demos. An extra set of dry clothes, a towel (if you’re going in the water) and sunscreen are a good idea too. Please also bring shoes or boots for bike demos, your own water bottle, a current picture ID and credit card for bike/water sports demos/deposit, and cash or a card for the demo pass (good for all-day bike and water sports demos). Cash or a card will come in handy for the beer garden, food vendors and other outdoor recreation items that will be for sale from festival exhibitors.

FESTIVAL PARKING/DIRECTIONS

Find all the details for driving, using the park and ride shuttles, or park and bike options here. Like past years, there will be shuttles from nearby parking areas and a secure, free bike corral at Camp Sekani Park, which is located between downtown Spokane and Spokane Valley on E. Upriver Drive.
