Summer Parkways is back in 2023 in the Manito/Comstock neighborhood on Spokane’s South Hill. Join in the fun at this annual gathering of bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, other human-powered vehicles, and pedestrians taking over the streets on summer solstice evening on Wednesday, June 21 (6-9 p.m.). In past years for Summer Parkways, family, friends, and neighbors from across the Spokane area have come together to be active outdoors and roll and stroll down streets that are normally the domain of cars and trucks. Along the designated 4-mile car-free route through the picturesque tree-lined streets of Manito and Comstock neighborhoods, participants can wander from pavement to park in a pleasant and peaceful environment without worrying about traffic. Mark your calendar to take advantage of the longest day of the year and get out during the golden hours of summer. There are plenty of activities and community group booths nearby in Manito and Comstock Parks too. For more information visit: Summerparkways.com. (OTO)
