The “Sup 2 The People” Demo Tour, launched by Jobe Watersports, will stop in Liberty Lake on Friday, August 5 from 3-6 pm, in an effort to get more people in the water.
The tour began in Colorado, California, on July 17, and will continue to 25 different locations throughout the West Coast. The event in Liberty Lake is held in partnership with the Spokane Alpine Haus, a sporting goods store and rental shop on the South Hill.
The free event will feature demonstrations, giveaways, and a chance to try stand up paddleboarding yourself.
No experience? No problem. “A couple of our team members will be out there helping out with their group and there will also be instructions for anyone who may need a little guidance,” says Drew Harding, owner of the Spokane Alpine Haus. “This is a community event just trying to give anyone and everyone the chance to try out stand up paddleboarding. All are welcome!”
Jobe Sports, which makes stand up paddleboards, wakeboards, water skis, wetsuits, life jackets and other watersports gear, is based out of the Netherlands, but wants to bring their mission to America.
“We want to get more people on the water,” said Maud Broekmeulen, marketing manager for Jobe Watersports. “Whether they’re trying the sport for the first time, or trying out the latest technology, we want them out there having fun.”
Jobe will be offering discounts to those who decide to purchase a board at the event.
The event will be held at the Liberty Lake Boat Launch (23810 E 3rd Ave). To RSVP or for more information, visit jobesports.com/sup2thepeople.
