Guided Tours of Metaline Falls Sites Featured in Two Popular Movies Scheduled Labor Day Weekend 2017

Thanks to Kalispel Tribe of Indians and Seattle City Light’s Boundary Dam, Metaline Falls Movies Guided Tours will be held this Labor Day Weekend (September 2 and 3, 2017). The tours include a walking tour of the picturesque town of Metaline Falls, Wash., which is located near the Canadian border in Pend Oreille County, with photo ops to put yourself in the scenes of The Postman, a popular post-apocalyptic movie featuring Kevin Costner. Scenes from the movie “Benny & Joon” were also filmed in the town and will be highlighted on the tours, which cost $20 per person, with an option for a bus ride tour to 340-foot-high Boundary Dam for an additional $20. A $5 discount is being extended to children, seniors, military and law enforcement personnel, first responders, and to groups of 10. (Due to cost, the bus ride can only happen with a minimum of 10 guests per trip.) The historic Cutter Theatre and Affair On Main Street will also have locally owned props from the movie on display. While you’re up in Pend Oreille County, make it a weekend adventure with a tour of Gardner Caves, paddle on the Pend Oreille River or Sullivan Lake, or a hike in the Colville National Forest on the Lakeshore Trail, Elk Creek Falls Trail, or up into the Salmo Priest Wilderness.
