SPOKANE, WA—Each spring, Evergreen East Mountain Bike Alliance puts on a series of skills clinics that teach many of the fundamental mountain bike handling and riding techniques that make mountain biking more fun and safe. The level 1 class focusses on proper balance and body position as well as a host of vital skills, including braking, climbing, descending, and tight turns. The level 2 class adds cornering, a variety of wheel lifts, negotiating obstacles, line selection, switchbacks, and roll downs. All skills are discussed, demonstrated, and practiced with instructors. Throughout the class, participants hit the trail for real-world practice of new skills. April 13 and May 11 are the dates for the Level 1 Women’s Specific class and Level 1 Coed class, and April 27 and May 25 for the Level 2 Women’s Specific class and Level 2 Coed class. Evergreen East will also be offering a kids’ specific class in June. Find the registration link for the Eastern Washington classes at Evergreenmtb.org.
