Bare Buns Fun Run (Kaniksu Ranch, WA): July 31

Loon Lake, Wash.

For the past two summers, the Bare Buns Fun Run has been on hold due to the pandemic, but this popular, clothing-optional 5k held near Deer Lake north of Spokane at the Kaniksu Ranch is back July 31, 2022, for its 36th running.

If you are reading this and think you could never go nude in front of others, organizers insist it’s one of the most freeing experiences a runner can have.

“As a long-time nudist, I can tell you it doesn’t matter what your body appearance is,” says event spokesperson Stormy Logan. “Body condition is never a prerequisite, and the event provides people the opportunity to try nudism for the first time.”

The Bare Buns Fun Run is a 5k timed run or walk that can be completed with or without clothes, and registration is available the day of the race and online in advance. Along with the run, there are a variety of activities including music Friday and Saturday nights, tent camping with meals available, games, hot tubbing, swimming and pickleball.

“We hope you embrace the opportunity the race weekend provides to strip away all your textile labels and be accepted just the way you are,” adds Logan.
