The New York Times has an excellent profile of Canadian cyclist Svien Tuft, who basically sounds like a back-to-land mountain man turned road cyclist. I love reading things about athletes whose raw talent overcomes a lack of formal training or the fact that they don’t fit sport-specific stereotypes. I would like to think Tuft would feel right at hoome in the Inland Northwest. I hope he makes the Tour De France.
