Ride Your Bike and Help a Child
When you register to participate in the Spokane Valley Cycle Celebration on Sunday, July 29, you get more than a great bike ride with commemorative t-shirt, snacks and lunch—you get to help children in our community.
All proceeds from the event benefit the Valleyfest Children’s Foundation. You’ll have the option to ride the 10-mile, 25-mile, or 50-mile course, and your race fees will give to an important foundation!
Established in 1990, the Valleyfest Children’s Foundation encourages economically disadvantaged children to pursue interests in arts, culture, science or math, and healthy lifestyles by providing grants that help pay the costs of programs, supplies, equipment and other resources their families may not otherwise be able to afford.
In addition to funding provided by the Valleyfest Car Show, Pancake Breakfast and Umpqua Bank, Cycle Celebration registrations also help support grants to qualifying children.
You can help provide these opportunities to children by inviting all your bicycling friends and family members to register for the Cycle Celebration and ride through some of the most beautiful scenery in Spokane Valley.
The cost for riders ages 18+ is $29, and includes a dry-fit t-shirt and box lunch. The cost for riders ages 13-17 is $15, and includes the same. The cost for ages 12 and younger is FREE and includes a cotton t-shirt and box lunch. All riders under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a participating adult. You also must wear an approved helmet and sign a waiver.
All bike rides begin at the North Centennial Trail Head across from Mirabeau Point Park (13500 E. Mirabeau Parkway, Spokane Valley, WA.) The 50-mile “Hills Around the Valley” ride starts at 8:00 a.m., the 25-mile “Adventure Ride” starts at 9:00 a.m., and the 10-mile “Family Friendly Ride” starts at 9:30 a.m. Each course will be clearly marked with color-coded Dan Henry Markers.
To make it fun, you can challenge another team, family, business or organization during this event. Valleyfest/Cycle Celebration will be giving awards to the team with the most participants, best team presentation (t-shirts, tattoos, head gear, etc.) and most creative team name.
Register online, by emailing info@valleyfest.org, or by calling (509) 922-3299.
