Out There Contributor Ammi Midstokke to Give Talks at Great Outdoors & Bike Expo (Feb. 18)

Sandpoint-based writer, adventure mom, nutritional therapy practitioner, and Out There Monthly columnist Ammi Midstokke will be giving two presentations on Saturday, February 18 as part of the Spokane Great Outdoors & Bike Expo.

Her first talk, titled “Nutrition for Hikers, Cyclists and Other Adventurers,” will present her case for caring for our insides by eating right when we head outside. Expect to pick up plenty of useful adventure eating ideas and laugh-out-loud commentary courtesy of Midstokke’s humorous and entertaining storytelling style. (Saturday, 12:30-1:15 p.m., at the Spokane Convention Center.)

Her second talk, “Outdoorsy People: Knowing What You and Your Outdoor Adventure Partners are Made Of,” will delve into the good, bad and ugly of choosing partners for your outdoor adventures. Awareness of and willingness to adjust expectations of ourselves and our hiking, running, biking, and other adventure companions is the key to health and happiness in the outdoors, maintains Midstokke in this sure-to-be entertaining and engaging talk. (Saturday, 3:30-4:15 p.m. at the Spokane Convention Center.)

The presentation is part of the Spokane Great Outdoors & Bike Expo happening all weekend long February 18-19, 2017 at the Spokane Convention Center. Midstokke’s two presentations are free with the purchase of a ticket to the Spokane Great Outdoors & Bike Expo ($8 online or $10 at the door). Learn more about the event here. //
