Hangman Creek Hike (June 9)

Join The Lands Council guide, Amanda Parrish, and Inland Northwest Trails Coalition’s Hangman Creek Project Manager, Daniel Collins, on June 9 for a hike along Hangman Creek. Hangman Creek has long been plagued by pollution from agricultural runoff and efforts have been underway to restore healthy water flows to this Spokane River tributary through the creation of storm gardens, which use native plants and activated charcoal to reduce runoff. In addition to the work done by The Lands Council, the Inland NW Trails Coalition has been working to plan a nine-mile long trail with water access connecting the neighborhoods around Hangman Creek. To learn more about restoration efforts and the potential for a nature path along the creek meet at the cul-de-sac at the south end of Inland Empire Way at 2 p.m.

Getting There

From US-195 take the Thorpe Road Exit. Head east to Inland Empire Way. Continue following Inland Empire Way south to the cul-de-sac.
