Mt. Spokane Ski Touring at Night with Dinner and Drinks this Friday!

Are you a social skier with a backcountry touring set-up looking for a unique way to get out for a night tour with some added perks in the form of food and drink that doesn’t come in a wrapper or hydration pack? Have you always wanted to try skinning up a mountain in a fun, non-threatening atmosphere and meet other skiers looking for the same experience? Are you a backcountry skier looking for a less intense, romantic way to introduce your significant other to your love of backcountry ski touring? If you answered yes to any of those questions, you don’t want to miss Mountain Gear’s “Nachtspektakel” ski tour up Mt. Spokane this Friday night!

After a headlamp-lit climb up the mountain under the starts, drinks and appetizers will be served up top at the Vista House, with dinner and more good cheer with Mountain Gear hosts and like-minded skiers at Lodge 2 after the ski back down. With clear skies and mild temps in the forecast, expect a pleasant nighttime adventure.

Pre-register in person at Mountain Gear at 2002 N. Division (where you can also rent ski touring gear in advance while supplies last), or call 325-9000 or sign up on their Facebook page. On mountain check-in for the event runs from 4-5:45 p.m, with prompt departure from Lodge 2 at 6 p.m. Skiers will make their way back down to the lodge at 9 for dinner.

Bring all your own gear, including skis, boots, climbing skins, poles, a bright headlamp, warm/breathable clothes for uphill and downhill travel, and a change of clothes if you want them for dinner back at the lodge.  More info here.
