The year Canada celebrates its 150th birthday. To commemorate this anniversary, Nelson and Kootenay Lake Tourism have put together a list of 150 reasons to visit this mountain town north of the border. Originally a mining town, today Nelson is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream and is home to the popular Nelson Fat Tire Festival (August 24-27). The project includes user submitted photos and videos highlighting local attractions. Some of my personal favorites include admiring Fletcher Falls, mountain biking in Kaslo, and hiking the rail trail.
