Spokane Community College’s Native American Student Organization welcomes Judith Brown Hawk, owner of Highland Sanctuary Retreat, who presents “Indigenous Populations in America: The 21st Century Native American” 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, in Lair-Student Center Sasquatch Room, Bldg. 6, 1810 N. Greene St.
Her appearance is part of SCC’s Native American Month observance.
The program is free.
Brown Hawk is a graduate of Spokane Falls Community College’s chemical dependency studies program and has a bachelor’s degree in social services from Whitworth University. She also has a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix.
At Highland Sanctuary Retreat, Brown Hawk facilitates sweat and smudge ceremonies and teaches Native American culture and sensitivity to non-indigenous people.
