If you love recreating on or along the Spokane River and want to give back, join over 600 other volunteers at the 16thannual Spokane River Clean-Up on Saturday, September 14. Each year, the pounds of trash collected grows as more volunteers show up and cover a larger area along the Spokane River shoreline. “Whether you’re a first-timer or an experienced picker-upper, you’re invited to join the fun,” says event organizer The Lands Council. This year’s event is planned to cover locations in the Spokane Valley, University District, the Downtown River Gorge area around Peaceful Valley, High Bridge Park, and People’s Park. Sign up and sign the waiver at Landscouncil.org.
