SPOKANE, WA—Don Kardong’s retirement as Bloomsday race director deserves an extra special send-off. Thankfully, Sweet Peaks Ice Cream, based in Western Montana, has come to the rescue with a brilliant, one-of-a-kind Inland Northwest ice cream.
Kardong earned a reputation when he said, “Without ice cream, there would be darkness and chaos.” Obviously, the ice cream is named Darkness and Chaos, and it features Northwest huckleberry ice cream with a chocolate fudge swirl and chocolate bark pieces. Stop by Sweet Peaks Ice Cream’s Spokane location (415 W Main Ave.) April thru Bloomsday weekend. But don’t wait until race weekend to taste Darkness and Chaos, because it will probably be gone.
