If you’re an avid mountain biker, but you haven’t visited Silver Mountain Bike Park you may want to reconsider as Silver Mountain was recently voted the best bike park in the Northwest for the third year in a row by MTBparks.com. Users voted Silver Mountain into the number one spot due to its “short lift lines, long runs and variety of terrain.”
For the past four years, Silver Mountain has been expanding its trail systems and bike programs. With a goal of increasing the accessibility of mountain biking, Silver Mountain has added new Giant rental bikes, more mountain bike instructors, ladies’ days, and a second full time bike mechanic in addition to creating new trails. Last year Silver Mountain added Low Life, a trail allowing riders to descend 3,400 uninterrupted vertical feet to the base of the mountain. Whether new to mountain biking or a long-time pro, you’re sure to find a trail to suit your comfort level.
This year Silver Mountain will be hosting the North American Enduro Cup, a major national level enduro bike race, on June 24 and 25. Silver Mountain is currently looking for volunteers to help with timing and course marshalling. If you’re interested in volunteering, email willyb@silvermt.com, or for more information about Silver Mountain Bike Park visit http://www.silvermt.com/Summer/Mountain-Biking.
