Eddy Hits The Top of The World

In case you have heard, Spokane’s Dawes Eddy, 66, became the oldest American to summit Mt. Everest this week. Our faithful correspondent and resident fitness guru Don Winant has been keeping us updated. Here’s some updates and pics with captions from Don:

Dawes Eddy—God Bless his Soul—is now the oldest (i.e. most senior) United States Citizen to stand atop of Mount Everest (29,035-feet), as of May 20th {4:00 to 4:30 AM}.
Read it in the words of Expedition Leader, Eric Simonson: http://www.mountainguides.com/everest-south09.shtml

Seventeen-year-old Johnny Collinson from Snowbird, Utah became the youngest American to summit Everest, and Dawes Eddy, 66, of Spokane, Washington became the oldest American to bag the peak. Collinson reached the top with Damien Benegas on May 19th, and Eddy peaked the next day with IMG.
The two are pictured together above.
