On July 26, the refuge is hosting the 1st annual Blue Goose Chase, a family friendly bike ride inaugurating the refuge’s new interpretive auto-tour route. Bike mechanics and support will be on hand while you and your family enjoy the twelve mile gravel loop at your own pace, stopping at interpretive signs explaining the homesteading history, habitats, and varied wildlife that call the refuge home. Arrive between 8:30 and 9 a.m. for the bike ride, or just come for live bluegrass music and refreshments at 11 and the raffle and cake-cutting ceremony at noon.
