I prefer a lightweight top as a baselayer while skiing, hiking, or during winter and early spring biking because it gives you more layering options to help keep from overheating. And it’s plenty of insulation to still keep your core solidly warm. This crew is one of the softest base layers I’ve ever owned, plus its stretchiness makes it so comfortable I keep forgetting to take it off when I come home. Another major bonus, given its Merino and synthetic origins, is that it has yet to make me gag taking it off after a long day of floundering around in the snow. Sale Price: $66.50.
