The Ferrule mixed media art show presented by The Bike Hub will feature artistic creations made from old bike parts by artist, bike shop manager, and event organizer Zach Hettinger; photo prints by local photographer and mountain bike race organizer Josh Tofsrud; wild nature-themed art by Destiny Jaeger; and work by a local graffiti artist known as “Tyler.” Enjoy refreshments and unique, local bike/nature/outdoor art at one of Spokane’s coolest bike shops. About the Artists
Zach Hettinger has been working in the bike industry for the last nine years so naturally he collected quite the assortment of bike parts. He’s also slightly obsessed with metal. “Over the last few years, I have been taking different bike parts and turning them into artistic monstrosities,” he says. “My work is more around the sorts of weird things you might find strewn about some crazy old guy’s yard amongst weeds and junked-out old cars.”
Destiny jaeger is a local, 22-year-old artist Spokane native who has been creating art for as long as she can remember. She uses pastel and a mixture of charcoal. While creating, she likes to get her hands messy and she has an eye for taking seemingly normal objects and animals and making them come to life with bold colors on black backgrounds.
Tyler is a local 31 year old graffiti artist from Spokane. His artwork can be seen around the area if you know where to look or happen to come across it.
