Explore the Ferry County Rail Trail

The Ferry County Rail Trail is located in the shadow of the Kettle River Range just north of Republic. This 25-mile trail follows the old Burlington Northern Railroad corridor along the shoreline of Curlew Lake and the Kettle River north to the Canadian border. The family-friendly trail is non-motorized and provides a wealth of natural beauty. In the winter the trail is groomed for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Improvements to the trail are ongoing, and the Ferry County Rail Trail Partners have made huge strides towards developing the trail with the recent completion of a 12.5-mile surfacing project along the waterfront. “We are thrilled with the progress we have made developing the trail,” said FCRTP President, Bobby Whittaker. In commemoration of the project’s completion, the FCRTP has released a 53 second video showcasing the beauty of the Ferry Country Rail Trail.
