5th Annual Day for Heather successfully benefits Community Cancer Services of Sandpoint
Sandpoint, ID – On Friday, December 10, Schweitzer Mountain Resort presented a donation of over $27,000 to the local Community Cancer Services of Sandpoint. The contribution was the result of the resort’s fifth annual Day for Heather event. Lift tickets were sold all day for $10 and 100% of the proceeds went to the center.
Conditions on the big day were blessed with 11 inches of snow the previous night and moderate temperatures. Over 4000 Schweitzer patrons (including season pass holders) enjoyed the fresh powder, amplified by the opening of the Outback Bowl which added even more excitement to an already rewarding day.
The addition of this year’s funds brought Schweitzer’s total Day for Heather donations to an excess of $95,000 over the last five years.
“A Day for Heather is an event we look forward to every season,” said Schweitzer President and CEO Tom Chasse. “We’re excited to do our part for a local charitable organization. It’s extremely rewarding to see people out here doing their part to help those in their community affected by cancer and having a good time while they do it.”
