Schweitzer Mountain Resort has announced it will open for the season on Friday, aided by the resort’s snowmaking machine. Two lifts, Musical Chairs and the Basin Express, will operate from 9 am to 3:45 pm. More lifts and runs will open as conditions allow. Lift tickets will be available at reduced prices.

At Silver Mountain, chairs 1 & 2 will open Friday. Lifts operate from 9 am to 4 pm, and they’re offering reduced ticket prices. Although they weren’t willing to report current conditions, we did get this much from their receptionist: “They’re expecting snow tonight, so it’ll change over tomorrow.” Call 866-344-2675
Mount Spokane is also opening Friday, offering mid-week prices over the weekend. Chairs 2,3 and 5 will be open; they’ll annouce later today on their website if 1 and 4 will open. Lifts will operate from 9 am to 4 pm. Call 238-2220 for information.
As we announced earlier this week, Lookout Pass opened last weekend and 49 Degrees North will open Saturday.
