Spokane Canoe and Kayak Club March General Meeting: SCKC PIZZA NIGHT! Trip Planning & Paddling Chile’s Futaleufú River

FreePIZZA & PADDLING! Come enjoy some pizza while discussing and making dates for outings. Your involvement is key to ensuring the club continues to have a variety of activities. Volunteering to help at just one event is a great first step. This is also the time to mention outings you wish would happen. Perhaps you can find someone to organize it with.
Speaker Topic: The Futaleufú River in southern Chile is known as one of the best whitewater gems in the world. The turqoise water is fed from glaciers in the Chilean Andes and features miles of nearly continuous rapids that are classic pushy “big water.” The most commonly run “Bridge to Bridge” section has been described as paddling all of the hardest rapids on the Grand Canyon back to back.
Marcus Lees will discuss his trip to the Futa in February 2019 along with general information about the river and general logistics about whitewater kayaking in Chile.
