Spokatopia Outdoor Adventure Festival 2020 has been cancelled. Originally postponed from its original July 11th date, due to the coronavirus pandemic, and rescheduled for Saturday, September 12, the entire event is now cancelled. Spokane County remains in Phase 2 of Washington State’s COVID re-opening plan; therefore, gatherings of more than 5 people outside the same household are prohibited.

Next summer, Spokatopia is scheduled for July 10, 2021.

The organizers of the annual Spokatopia Outdoor Adventure Festival, who also publish this magazine, think the Spokane region is an outdoor adventure utopia. Hence the festival’s name. One of the biggest draws of the event is the opportunity to try a wide range of bikes, from high-end mountain bikes to e-bikes and other entry-level and mid-range bikes for dirt and pavement on Camp Sekani Park singletrack and the Centennial Trail.

Spokatopia participants can also take the 5-minute walk down to Boulder Beach on the Spokane River to try different paddleboards, sit-on-top kayaks, and other watersports gear. The event also features live music, an adult beverage garden supporting Evergreen East, a mountain bike jump show, a SUP race, 5k trail run, free yoga class, slacklining, kids’ activities, bouldering, over 50 outdoor vendors, food trucks, and other new activities, races, and contests in the works.

Returning to a one-day format for 2021 with longer hours than in the past, Spokatopia will be 9 a.m.-9 p.m. General admission and kids under 12 are free, and bike and watersports demo passes range from $10 to $45. Mark your calendar and look for updates at Spokatopia.com and on social media.
