Join us for the Grand Opening & Celebration of the Dwight Merkel Sports Complex!
Saturday, August 7th
The Spokane Park Board, Parks Bond Citizen Advisory Committee and staff of the Spokane Parks and Recreation Department cordially invite you to attend a day of activities.
Activities Include:
8 am – dusk Explore the trails by foot (self-guided tour)
10 am Dedication ceremony and ribbon-cutting
10:30 am First pitch, soccer kick, skateboard drop, BMX start
4 pm Pistole Skate Competition
All Day Ongoing activities and demos for all ages, including:
· Soccer, Flag Football, Softball, Ultimate
Frisbee and Volleyball
· BMX Race and Run
· Skate Classes and Demonstrations
· Free Samples
· Live Music from Rock 94.5

Tour the Site:
6 full size natural grass soccer fields
2 full size synthetic athletic fields with lights
5 softball diamonds with lights
1 youth baseball field
*BMX track with lights & timing equipment
*Skate park
Neighborhood park with splash pad & playground
Walkable connection to Riverside State Park
Access to the new Dwight Merkel Trail
