Spokane River Clean-Up Set for September 17

Each year, hundreds of volunteers spend a Saturday morning picking up garbage and recyclable materials from popular public lands along the Spokane River. In 2015, volunteers removed about 4 tons of debris from High Bridge Park all the way to the University District. Whether you float or paddle the river or hike, bike or run along the trails and streets on the shoreline, the Spokane River Clean-Up is a great chance to give back to the river and honor the great recreational opportunities the Spokane River corridor provides all year long. The Spokane River Clean-Up is made possible by the service of about 100 volunteers who go the extra mile to make the clean-up effective, efficient, safe, and fun. If you would like to play a leadership role in this year’s Spokane River Clean-Up, please contact Danny Murphy at riversidestatepark1@gmail.com or Lindsay Box at lbox@landscouncil.org or 509-209-2851.
