This Booty has been found! Congratulations to the winner!
Play the OTM Backcountry Booty scavenger hunt contest and you get to explore different trails around the region and possibly win gift certificates for cool outdoor gear and other prizes. Here’s how it works:
1. We hide a booty certificate, that’s good for whatever prizes are up for grabs, along a trail somewhere in a park or recreation area in the greater Spokane area.
2. We name the general location and offer up a few clues and photos on Facebook and the Out There Monthly website (scroll down on this page for the clues and pics). Check the contest page at OutThereMonthly.com to review all the clues for the current booty.
3. We keep giving out clues on Facebook until someone finds the booty and wins!
4. Winners post a victory photo on OTM’s Facebook page to confirm that it’s been found, and then we let them know where to pick up the prize(s)!
1.17.16 Backcountry Booty prize: This time, you’ll be hunting for a $50 Fitness Fanatics gift certificate and a Spokane Nordic beanie, plus a Mountain Gear pocket knife, some ski wax and anti-fog gel and an Out There Monthly key chain/bottle opener up at the Mt. Spokane Cross-Country Ski Park.

Backcountry Booty clue #3: The Fitness Fanatics/Spokane Nordic Backcountry Booty voucher is hidden on a trail near Quartz Mountain, and if you visit this same location in late spring or early summer, you might hear water trickling nearby.
Backcountry Booty clue #2: The Fitness Fanatics/Spokane Nordic Backcountry Booty is hidden on a southern facing trail. Maybe, just maybe, you could catch a view of the Spokane Valley and Peone Prairie from this trail on a clear day.
Backcountry Booty clue #1: Grab your cross-country skis (or rent a set-up from Fitness Fanatics at Selkirk Lodge up at the Mt. Spokane Cross-Country Ski Park Thursday-Monday) and head out on the Mt. Spokane Nordic trails to find this prize package from Fitness Fanatics and Spokane Nordic. The booty is hidden up in the trees a short distance off trail. Look for more clues coming soon!
